All positions involve lifting of heavy parts (50+ pounds) – good fitness level required.

INDUSTRIAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Uni-Cast has an immediate opening on SECOND SHIFT (3:30 pm – midnight) for an Industrial Maintenance Technician. This position is responsible for the following:

  • Maintain and repair production and building support equipment (including automated, pneumatic and hydraulic machinery).
  • Perform various types of facility maintenance to include basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Implement preventive maintenance and repair procedures to expedite timely repairs and reduce lost production time.
  • Maintain maintenance documentation for the equipment.
  • Experience with welders, acetylene torches and brazing or soldering equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of control logic and PLC’s a plus
  • Maintain Company standards of performance and comply with housekeeping, safety policies and procedures.

QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR

Uni-Cast has an immediate opening for a Final Inspector. This Inspector position is responsible for inspecting castings for defects to insure that the product meets the customer’s requirements. Key skills for Inspection:

  • Interpretation of quality requirements
  • Importance of accurate paperwork

QUALITY CONTROL NONDESTRUCTIVE TESTING LEADER (LEVEL III)

Provides technical guidance and hands-on assistance to lower-level technicians to ensure that non-destructive testing (NDT) inspection requirements are being maintained for all customers. Provide technical expertise and input in the development, optimization, and revision of Radiography (RT) and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) work instructions to assure that castings are adequately inspected. Responsible for the technical review and final approval of Radiography (RT) and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) work instructions in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Manager. Responsible for maintaining the company’s NDT Personnel Qualification and Certification program by administering NDT (RT & FPI) written and practical examinations including the documentation and retention of all applicable records for NDT technicians. Responsible for the coordination of equipment maintenance work orders to ensure that all NDT equipment is being properly maintained and safely operated. Ensure that all NDT technicians are properly trained to follow the appropriate work instructions for their assigned tasks and that all the technical requirements are adhered to. Responsible for the development, revision, and maintenance of all NDT procedures. Provide NDT technical support to Process Engineering in order to improve the overall metallurgical casting quality by reducing or eliminating process related discontinuities (e.g., inclusions less dense and more dense, oxidation, cold shut, flow lines, gas porosity, gas holes, shrinkage sponge, shrinkage cavity, misrun, core shift, tear, and cracks). Interpret and evaluate X-ray films and Digital images of aluminum investment castings. Promote and encourage NDT best practices among technicians while optimizing inspection techniques for both Radiography and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection methods. Work harmoniously with manufacturing operations to provide NDT inspection support to the rework cycle process. Schedule and organize external and internal NDT special process audits to support Quality Assurance requirements and maintain the company’s NADCAP & AS9100 accreditations. Responsible for the investigation, corrective action and closeout of NDT special process audits and as well as all customer returns relating to NDT. Provide the required practical and technical training to all NDT personnel who are willing to cross-train within both NDT methods i.e. RT and FPI. Responsible for maintaining the Radiation Safety Program including Radiation Leakage Surveys and Personnel Dosimetry Control. Utilizing Digital Radiography (DR) technology and related equipment to inspect the weld repair rework of aluminum investment castings. Review customer drawings, specifications and other contractual documents to establish proper inspection plans and procedures to meet customer requirements. Responsible for the structural and functional integrity of all NDT equipment and adherence to state and federal operational safety standards. Demonstrate advanced technical competency and a strong sense of judgement as the NDT Level III. Responsible for customer communications on Quality Assurance and NDT matters at the OEM and Prime Contractor corporate level.
